COVID-19 Update – March 18, 2020
To our Clients and Visitors
The present COVID-19 crisis has created a challenge that none of us could imagine just a short time ago. Our most immediate priorities are the safety of our colleagues and supporting our clients in any way we can.
We know our clients very well and while we have no visibility as to what may unfold over the next few weeks, our professionals are here to help you develop an appropriate response to the challenges you presently face.
The Department of Finance Canada announced today in response to the Covid-19 Pandemic they will be extending the personal tax filing deadline to June 1, 2020 for individuals.
SAN has a responsibility to contribute in any way we can to slow the transmission of the COVID-19 virus and we can best contribute by minimizing interpersonal contact and practicing effective social distancing. We are encouraging all our colleagues to work from home and restricting our colleagues’ attendance at the office and/or client premises. We remain committed to ensuring your needs are met and we will continue to work with you to accommodate any unique circumstances. Rest assured, working together, we will find the right solution.
As such, we will also be closing our offices to the public effective, Wednesday, March 18th until end of day, Tuesday, March 31st (subject to ongoing review).
To allow our clients the ability to drop off their information for continued tax return and file preparation we will have the following limited reception hours:
Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
Tuesdays and Thursdays 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm
This is obviously a very difficult time for everyone and like you, we must balance the well being and safety of our colleagues with the needs of our clients. We remain committed in every way possible to helping you through this time. Our response plan is in full effect and our colleagues will continue to work with you from a remote location.
Despite the immediate challenges we are all faced with, we want to reiterate, we are here to help and we will continue to provide you with information and guidance in as timely a manner as possible.
Our Partners and Staff continue to work, just not from our regular premises. You can reach your SAN advisor at any time to discuss how we plan to handle your work. Please connect with us by our available offsite communication channels (cell phone and/or email):
Please know our thoughts are with you, your families and your employees.
If you’re ill, or have any cold or flu like symptoms, have been exposed to COVID-19 or have been asked to self-isolate due to travel we ask that you not come to our office. This is important. Please follow government guidelines. Stay home. Call your health professional.
